A long couple months.

Well Happy Thanksgiving !
I will have to say mine was definitely not that!
It seems that when one bad thing happens 4 others are soon to follow.
Regardless I did find a really neat slightly too small dress. Its really odd looking. Its a Lilly Diamond dress.

Its really cute but I need to loose about 4-5 pounds to fit into it. which I was working on anyways Soo more incentives are good.

Lately  my boyfriend and I have been doing a lot of estate sale shopping. The only thing I don't enjoy is getting up so early on my day off but it is definitely worth it in the end.



I will have to post with some pictures with my recent finds.  Sine we are looking to move out we have slowly been collecting furniture, lamps, plates, etc. after they are purchased they have to immediately go into storage since we have no room at the house.
We bought a Formica table that we had to drive a couple hours for but it was definitely worth it.

sometimes life sucks.

Well I have not heard back from the vintage store in weeks and am pretty upset about it. I was really hoping this job would work out for me not only for the money but for the fact I would actually enjoy every moment of it.
I have horrible anxiety and stress about unnecessary things. witha job i dont like it tends to make it a lot worse.
well I have been working at a friends parents propane company.working only4-5 hours a day.  . which kind of sucks. It is definitely better than sitting on my butt though!
well thats all thats been going on in my life!! I do have a derby bout this weekend! photos will soon follow.

Possible New Job

Today my boyfriend and I went to one of my favorite vintage clothing stores to take a look at their Halloween costumes. One of the women working complimented my outfit and jokingly asked if I wanted a job. She was surprised when I told her i would actually be interested.
She had me fill out a job app. I talked to a few other women in the store and they said they would put in a really good word in with the owner.


I would LOVE for this to work out, it would be my absolute dream job.

In desperate need of a Hair Change!

So I have recently decided to grow out my bangs. Cutting them has become addicting and any other attempt I have had to grow them has failed. Well it wont this time! Well with them growing out i will be able to do a lot more accurate hair styles. With bangs there is not much I can do. 

As you have seen from my pictures I have a redish blonde hair color.
I have been really wanting to dye it a darker brown with a hint of red. . but the fear of never having my origanal hair color again is holding me back.

I have been told my numerous people that i will regret it. that my color is so unique.
hmm well I guess I will keep it for now but a short haircut is on the way!

Latest bout

Well this past Saturday we had our latest roller derby bout (game)
We lost by only a couple points which was a shame. We have a lot of new girls that made there debut soI felt we did pretty good considering it was there first time .

Halloween is sneaking up on me!

and I am not the least bit prepared. Usually by know I have my costume at least planned out.
Halloween is my favorite holiday and every costume must be epic.

This year I wanted to go with the Carmen Miranda thing but I want a home made costume. . . not some flimsy ugly thing. I have not found one costume online that i liked and I dont think I Could sew one. . . I could def make a cool hat. I took some pictures of Tom Tierney's paper dolls of some neat costumes of hers

A vintage lovers heaven . . .

Well I don't know if I mentioned this before but I have a 3rd cousin that lives in the boonies of Chicago that owns a costume company. She has been collecting since she was 13 and is now 73. We have been talking for the past couple years about my love for vintage and eventually planned for me to come down a visit.
My grandma, sister and I flew out on Wednesday. 
She has a barn and 3 mobile homes full of vintage clothing ranging from the 1800s- the 1980s. I spent 2 days looking through all the clothes (could of spent a month) , trying them on, taking pictures, etc.
I can only wish that my collection will grow to be at the most 25% of what she has.

I will post some pictures when I can but heres one off of my camera phone.

Every dress bag is labeled with the era, designer, the measurements, and small details about the dress (tears, ruffles, etc.)

vacations and what not

I know its been to long but things have gotten pretty busy for the past month or so.
I just got back yesterday from rollercon. I was there for a week and I have to say it was SO much fun.

Rollercon is a roller derby convention that is held every year in Vegas. It is for a skill levals. You can take classes by some of the top derby players or do scrimmages. It is an amazing learning experience. People come from all over to attend. There were some from England, Canada, and Australia.


I can only dream about being as good as some of those girls one day. I cant wait till next year!

 I got these for around 5 bucks one ebay for they were poorly listed. I got very lucky!!

 These are not vintage but are cute none the less

This matching Set I also got on ebay for i believe only 10 bucks. they fit perfect but of course the first time I wore them the zipper broke. . . which was unfortunate but a quick fix.

Its been too long!

Well lately I have been to busy with work and vacation planing I haven't gotten a chance to post about my finds from Fresno!
Well last weekend we took a drive to Fresno so that the boyfriend could ref a game. We left early to hit up some thrift stores around the corner from the Fairgrounds.
We found so much good stuff!

 This Lucite top purse was a find! I only paid 8 bucks for it !

 This I actually got in Ventura. I wore it to Fresno.

 I dont really know the exact era this Jacket is from im thinking 40s? I like it nonetheless

I know its hard to tell but these shoes matched the 60's dress PERFECTLY like they were made for each other.









Well tomorrow we are off to Santa Maria hopefully i can hit up some more shops. There is also an estate sale with 50s furniture that I may just have to make time for.
